[edit] Overview
This book is full of fun patterns for small children. I don't think I have any books where I hope to make such a large percentage of the included patterns. They are all extremely pretty and fun, while still being practical for active kids. The patterns range from 6 months to 4 years old, depending on the item. Complexity varies greatly too, giving the experimental and adventurous knitters something to sink their teeth into, while also providing a few more simple pieces. All are lovely, and I often find kids patterns to be too hideously fufu for words. Of the 25 patterns, there are 12 sweaters/cardigans/jackets, 5 dresses/tops, 2 blankets, and a small smattering of hats, mittens, and bootees. This book has lots of beautiful photographs, often more than one of a given item so you can see it from several angles.
There is a knitting conversion chart and some abbreviations are defined, but otherwise, not much in the sense of teaching one HOW to knit, so find another book for that.
NOTE: The Loopy Knitter mentions there might be more than one edition of this book out there because she tried a pattern that someone else had a lot of trouble with and it turned out fine for her. However, no one has been able to discover any edition numbers or information within the book. While looking for this book on Amazon, I realized the available book was called "Adorable Knits for Tots", but there was a second book with the same cover, only available used, called, "Adorable Knits For Tiny Tots". My guess is, this is the original book and perhaps the more recent one, sans "Tiny", has some corrections in it that aren't on the list posted below. So if you buy this one used folks, you may want to avoid the first edition... assuming it is one.

Apparently the corrections for this and other Krause books are extremely difficult to find. You must contact the publisher and pester them before they will give them up. Happily, Debbie Knitter did the work for us and the corrections are posted with permission to http://debscorneroftheworld.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html.
The publisher's web site is http://www.krausebooks.com/product/32/59 but all you can really do here is order the book for full price and see other books they've published.
