From WikiKnitting.com
| Stitch Name: | I-Cord |
| Common Abbreviations: | none |
| Use: | To make handles for bags, ties for slippers or booties |
[edit] Instructions
- Cast on several stitches onto a double pointed needle. The number of stitches you cast on will depend on how large you want the cord to be (5-8 is typical).
- Knit all stitches in the row.
- Without turning the work, slide these stitches to the opposite end of the double pointed needle (from the left end to the right end).
- Keeping the yarn behind your work, knit the first stitch on the right end of the needle. Pull the stitch tight to close the gap between the stitches.
- Repeat Steps 2-4 until the I-cord reaches the desired length.
