Increase
The Make One increase makes an almost invisible increase and is ideal for stockinette fabric. The increase should be made at least one stitch in from the edge.

With the right needle pick up the ladder in between the stitch on the right and left needles.
Place it on the left needle, so it looks like a regular knit stitch.
Knit into the back of the stitch. Knitting into the back of the stitch will twist the stitch preventing a hole from appearing below the increase.

Step 1: Pick-up the ladder between the 2 stitches with your right needle
Step 2: Place the ladder on your left needle
Step 3: Insert your needle into the back of the picked-up stitch
Step 4: Knit the stitch with your right needle in the back loop
