This pattern combines a simple 4 stitch cable with an OXOX cable. The KSAR yarn is incredibly soft and this makes a wonderful winter scarf.
Although the pattern looks complicated it is really 4 sets of 4 stitch cables. You are just passing some stitches behind and others in front. Once you knit the first OX, you will see how simple this is. This was the first cabled item I ever knitted, so don't be afraid!

[edit] Keyhole
To make the keyhole we're going to place half the stitches on a holder, knit the other half the stitches of the scarf in pattern for 1/2 "X", 1 "O" and 1/2 "X". Then break the yarn. Place these stitches on a holder and take the other stitches off the holder and knit in pattern until you reach the stitches that are now on the holder. Join the two pieces together and continue knitting in pattern.
