[edit] Summary

I have loved Super Mario Bros. since the day I first played it on the NES. I designed this bag in honor of the release of the newest Mario game, Paper Mario for the Wii. The design for the bag is based on the last part of Level 1-1 of the original Super Mario Bros. game.

The bag uses a combination of fair isle, intarsia and embroidery to capture all of the detail.

[edit] Knitting The Bag

Although this is knitting on circular needles, the body of the bag is knit flat and then seamed together.

  1. Cast on 164 Stitches in Color A.
  2. Knit 6 rows in stockinette stitch in color A starting with a purl row.
  3. Begin following pattern charts below.
    1. The picture is divided into 4 charts for better readability.
  4. Bind off using an I-Cord Bind-Off.
